At A Meeting With APC Support Groups, On Thursday, November 27, 2025, At Radio House, Abuja.
I am delighted to welcome the distinguished conveners and leaders of support groups of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the largest political party in Africa, to Radio House, Nigeria’s nerve Centre for government communications and national orientation.
First, I would like to wholeheartedly appreciate your unalloyed loyalty to our party, your unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and your fervent patriotism to our dear country, Nigeria.
From the battlefield of the 2023 general elections to the bold reforms introduced by this administration, your support has remained steadfast, even when it was inconvenient and challenging.
We are happy that the mandate we have been standing on has begun to deliver dividends of democracy to our people.
Our economy has rebounded, our foreign reserves are growing, and inflation is dropping. We have embarked on massive infrastructure development across all sectors of the economy in all six geopolitical zones.
We have fulfilled many of our campaign promises. Students’ loans have been achieved, and we have put an end to fuel subsidy corruption. Our states are receiving more money, local government autonomy has come to stay, and every region now has its development commission.
Looking back, we all should be proud of our valuable contribution to the emergence of this government and our confidence in the leadership of Mr. President.
Now, we are faced with the urgent need to defeat terrorism and banditry, restore and keep the nation safe for everyone, irrespective of their tribe and tongue or their religious faith, as guaranteed in our national constitution.
Yesterday, Mr. President declared a state of emergency on security, authorizing the recruitment of additional personnel into the Army and Police and announcing fresh support for existing security outfits created by state governments.
He has also called on the National Assembly to expedite legislative actions on the establishment of State Police. The newly established Ministry of Livestock Development and the State governments will work together to put a stop to open grazing and replace it with ranching. These new directives mark a turning point in the war against terror.
The Tinubu administration is laying a strong foundation for Nigeria’s future by creating more opportunities for our youth, who constitute more than 60 percent of our population. We have an unprecedented number of youths heading Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. Some of them were leaders and members of different APC support groups. I can assure you that Mr. President will continue to advance the interests of the youth.
Dear party members, let us appreciate our national spread and large membership, and also value our healthy internal democracy and good governance. It is important that we continue to stay united, work together, and uphold all the founding principles that guide and sustain our dear party.
On a final note, I encourage us to continue to be the conscience and thermometer of the party. Let’s get more involved in amplifying the programs of the government and their impacts, making quality contributions to policy and lawmaking, demanding accountability from government officials across the three levels of government, and escalating feedback to the government.
May God bless our party, the All Progressives Congress.
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Mohammed Idris, fnipr
Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation.
